Helen Driggs is an experienced metalsmith, teaching artist, writer, maker of things, and now the author of the Metal Jewelry Workshop! Helen currently teaches jewelry classes on the Bead and Gem Show circuit around the country. She is the former Senior Editor of Lapidary Journal Jewelry, a BFA graduate of Moore College of Art, and has studied jewelry independently with some of the most talented metalsmiths/jewelers of our time. In addition to her book, she also has a variety of DVDs: Metalsmith Essentials: Riveting & Cold Connections and Metalsmith Essentials Basic Fabrication. Her background as an illustrator of science and information; strongly influences her metalwork process. She collects a variety of potential jewelry materials and much like an evolutionary biologist, then groups and describes with sketches and notes before touching the metal.
