Fox Chapel Announces Folk Art Inspired Quilt Book by Jan and Jim Shore
Lancaster, PA — Fox Chapel Publishing, a leading publisher of craft and DIY books, is excited to publish a new quilt book by Jan and Jim Shore through its Landauer Publishing quilt imprint. Classic & Colorful Patchwork and Applique Quilt Patterns pays tribute to the sentimental value that quilts hold, while offering 24 of Jan Shore’s stunning quilt projects. The book includes irresistibly charming quilt designs that quilters can follow to create heirloom quilts of their own.
In collaboration with husband and award-winning artist Jim Shore, the book combines Jim’s iconic folk art with Jan’s elegant quilt designs that work together to create beautiful imagery and whimsical stories that tie into each project. Whether it’s a story about afternoon tea or a special Christmas tradition, Jan and Jim weave unique and memorable tales into each project.
A successful entrepreneur who managed the internationally-renowned art firm Designs Americana with Jim and, more recently, creator of her own fabric designs with Benartex, Jan is a staple of the quilt world. “Fabric is in my blood,” she says. “My mother was a masterful seamstress, as was my grandmother. Mom taught me to sew, in fact, I don’t recollect a time when I didn’t sew! We saved every scrap of material that was left over, and those became quilts.” Classic & Colorful Patchwork and Applique Quilt Patterns launches in March of 2022.
