Fox Chapel Continues to Expand Activity Books for Kids

Following the success of D.L. Miller’s BigFoot seek-and-find books, Fox Chapel Publishing, under the imprint Happy Fox Books, has decided to expand its activity book line. First launching in early 2018 with the award-winning titles BigFoot Visits the Big Cities of the World and BigFoot Goes on Vacation, the Happy Fox imprint now includes six seek-and-find BigFoot books and two BigFoot activity books, among other titles. More BigFoot activity books have released this summer as well; BigFoot Activity Book launched in June 2019 and BigFoot Goes on Great Adventures was released this July 2019.

Fox Chapel Publishing has found that educational activity books offered at a retail price of $9.99 are highly appealing to customers. Repeating this same recipe for success, the publisher teamed up with author Vicki Whiting to produce A Kid’s Guide to Drawing Cartoon Animals and Learn & Mind-Boggling Animal Puzzles: A Treasury of Fabulous Facts, Secret Codes, Games, Mazes, and More! Both activity books draw on the author’s archives from KidScoop, an organization which creates kid-friendly puzzles and activities and publishes them in over 300 newspapers nationwide.
The publisher has also partnered with another popular children’s activity book artist. Liz Ball is the author and illustrator of Hidden Pictures books, which Ball independently published for years creating an impressive following. Her illustrations are beloved by children but also recommended by doctors, teachers, and parents to help improve eye coordination, spatial skills, memory retention and concentration. With Fox Chapel Publishing, she will be releasing Hidden Pictures at the Zoo in November 2019.
